Soap Sculpture

Soap Sculpture

This is a sculpture made out of soap. I chose this design because it was a form of abstract art that is inspired by large rocks found in nature. What we used to sculpt it was just common clay tools, mainly the ribbon tool and needle. I first drew the shape I wanted to draw then I cut it out and placed it on the bar of soap then lined it and then once I was done with that I started shaving to match the outline. My goals for this project are for it to look like it wasn’t my first time sculpting meaning it would be cleaner than how it actually did turn out. Another thing is that I would often make the soap too thin and it would break like how it did on the side of the sculpture above. If I could change one thing about what I did it would be taking less of at a time and slowing down.
